FDA Meetings

The FDA advisory committee (VRBPAC) meets this week to discuss and vote on whether to recommend approval of both Moderna and Pfizer for children as young as 6 months.

In the past, the committee devoted an entire day to evaluating a single manufacturer. But for our youngest and most vulnerable? Nope. Two manufactures, two trials but they are packing all that into just one day to discuss and carefully consider recommending the mRNA vaccines for our babies.

Moderna hasn’t been approved for use in anyone under 18 in the US. Many countries restrict the use of Moderna for people under 30 (sample of articles here, here, here ). But this week, they will evaluate and likely approve it children 6 to 17 years old as well as the babies!

Comment to the FDA VRBPAC. Currently at 128,947 comments. Seems like 250,000 would be a nice number of comments!

Tell your elected officials and the FDA #HandsOffOurChildren via an AlignAct from the Children’s Health Defense. Messages are pre-formatted so you don’t have to figure out what to say. It will ask for your address which is used to determine who your senators, congressional members, etc are. They don’t save your address. I counted 70 people the emails would go to. Just warms my heart to think of their email boxes exploding. You can also post to Twitter, Facebook and Gab. Those are pre-formatted too. For the tweets, I found I needed to edit them a bit for a misplaced ampersand. Also, they break the tweets into several to tag your elected officials and stay in the 140 character limit. AlignAct will walk you through it.

Demand the FDA Answer Questions Before Expanding COVID Shots for Kids via an email to your elected officials written by AAPS (Physician group Dr. McCullough is associated with). This email urges your elected Members of Congress to add their names to a letter urging the FDA to stop any authorization of the mRNA vaccines for the children 6 Months - 4 years until important questions about safety and efficacy are answered, especially in light of the facts that perhaps 80% of children already have some protection from previous COVID infection and children have a 99.98% COVID survival rate. So far, 18 Members of Congress have added their names to this letter. NOTE: you CAN modify this email. I added “As a voting constituent,” to the beginning of mine.

Let’s recap how we got here:

🚩 The Pfizer clinical trial in kids under 5 failed in December 2021.

🚩 So Pfizer added a third dose and that trial also apparently failed in February (which is why Pfizer was forced to withdraw its application on February 10).

🚩 Now Pfizer is describing a jerry-rigged trial of a third dose in 1,678 kids ages 6 months to four years old. Pfizer did not disclose how the kids were divided between the treatment and control group so it is impossible to run our own calculations on efficacy. Out of that sample, 10 developed Covid — although it is not clear how the 10 were distributed between the treatment and control group. (I suppose some quant on Twitter will figure out how to work backwards from Pfizer’s claims to calculate the numbers in each of these categories but needless to say, this is not the proper way to do science.) Of course Pfizer also failed to describe the contents of the “placebo.”

What’s perhaps most troubling about this so-called clinical trial is that Pfizer is NOT looking at health outcomes in the real world (because there are none). Instead, all of their claims are based on antibodies in the blood. That’s strange because the members of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee unanimously acknowledged on April 6 that there are “no correlates of protection” in connection with Covid-19 shots (this means that there are no valid proxy measures, such as antibody counts, that can determine whether someone who has received this shot is immune to the virus or not.)
